MOVE THROUGH THE FEAR

This morning, my pastor spoke about the way fear can immobilize you. Fear is a normal part of the human existence, but how you overcome it is what breeds victory. You may be scared to start a new career path, to take the next step in a relationship, to relocate, to stand up for yourself or even be yourself. The key is to keep moving even when you’re scared.

Now, the key to pushing through fear? That would be FAITH. If we had to carry the weight of every new journey by ourselves, fear would inevitably win. There has to be a foundation greater than the task at hand, which in my case, is God. I know that He wouldn’t lead me into a hopeless situation or destruction, so even as I walk into the unknown I can do it with confidence. Faith gives you the freedom to MOVE in your life. Faith frees you from the paralyzing weight of anxiety, worry and fear.

So the next time you find yourself avoiding action out fear (which can also be found in complacency), try writing down what it is that is holding you back. Then write down which areas of that journey you CAN control and which areas you CANNOT control – this will help you see where you can take action while your faith allows God to handle the rest.

Remember, writing it out is just a start and a reference point; The true test is whether or not we take action. We have to MOVE even if we feel afraid of failing. Take action despite the uncertainties and do it with hope, not pessimism. Your owe it to yourself to fight against your fears; And it makes your victories and accomplishments taste that much sweeter.
